Appearing in the Oscar-nominated film, 'Gone Girl', and nominated for a Maverick Movie Award for best-supporting actress for her role in the feature film 'Badsville', Kate is a diverse performer whose immense love for storytelling, music, and art began at an early age while growing up Haliburton, Ontario. An international singer and recording artist, Kate has enjoyed working with some of the industry's most celebrated talents: Robby Krieger of The Doors, Jeff Goldblum and his Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, jazz pianist Andy Langham to name a few. Currently, Kate can be seen headlining at the famed Michael Holmes Purple Room in Palm Springs. Kate is thrilled to continue her collaboration with award-winning jazz vibraphonist, Nick Mancini in her hometown where they were last seen on stage together six years ago.

In 2016, Kate released a jazz/torch EP entitled 'i am that girl' and a full-length vocal album in collaboration with the Martini Kings entitled 'Smile'.

Kate is also a passionate and talented writer whose work has been optioned by Buck Productions, (based in Toronto, Vancouver, and LA), who will produce Boundless, a six part mini-series written and created by Kate about the women pilots of WWII, inspired by the true story of her grandmother who was a Canadian pilot.

An aviation enthusiast, Kate has spent years researching and interviewing women pilots across North America, especially those who served in WWII. Kate is a member of the Coachella Valley chapter of the 'Ninety-Nines', a women's flying club started by Amelia Earhart in 1929, which is now active in 66 countries around the world today.

The next phase of this endeavour puts Kate in the director's chair with a short film version of Boundless that will be shot this summer in Ontario, produced by the Buck Productions team.

The Boundless project is a celebration of these brave women pilots of WWII and their untold stories of heroism and devotion.  We also hope to inspire young women to know more about the world of flying and to help create awareness of the many careers available in aviation, space and science. Today, still only 6 percent of all pilots throughout the world are women. We would love your help to inspire that number to grow by telling this incredible story of these unsung heroines of WWII.

Buck Productions is an international award-winning content creation house, with an expansive portfolio across feature film, television, branded content, documentaries and commercials. Some recent productions include 'Milton's Secret' starring Donald Sutherland, based on the book by Eckhart Tolle and 'The Astronaut' starring Richard Dreyfuss, Colm Feore and Lyric Bent, set for theatrical release later this year.

A portion of the proceeds from this concert will go to YWCA HERS (Haliburton Emergency Rural SafeSpace) for women and children fleeing abuse.

YWCA Peterborough Haliburton changes lives by providing a path to safety and an opportunity for a fresh start. They have been a leader in addressing the needs of women and children for 127 years by offering shelter, housing, counselling, and practical supports such as community-based food programs. Mission: To support the right of all women and their families to live free from violence, poverty and oppression as they build their desired futures.

Vision: To see all women and children thriving.

Nick's audition for the Manhattan School of music won him the prestigious President's Award scholarship and he graduated with a masters degree in jazz performance.

For the following 8 or so years, Mancini continued honing his craft while cutting his teeth at live gigs all around NYC, earning him a much-deserved reputation as a trusted sideman and kick-ass band leader until a gig took him out west and he found his true home in LA. In 2006 he relocated and was immediately inducted into the, then burgeoning but now codified, LA creative music scene. Since his arrival, Mancini has truly made an indelible mark. He was celebrated as the Honoree at the 18th annual Los Angeles Jazz Vibes Summit and earlier that same year his face graced the cover of Ventana Monthly, the popular Ventura county arts magazine, which also featured him in a story about the beach communitys thriving arts scene. DRUM Magazines Readers Poll named him Best Jazz Percussionist (on vibes).

Nick has performed and recorded with such diverse luminaries as Arturo Sandoval, Peter Erskine, Poncho Sanchez, Solange, Kenny Werner, Amos Lee, and Jennifer Holliday, and with the greatest young and emerging stars such as Kamasi Washington, Miguel Atwood-Fergusson, and Ben Wendel. As both a bandleader and sideman, Nick has appeared at some of New Yorks most notable venues such as The World Famous Apollo Theater: Showtime at the Apollo, Birdland, and Joes Pub. In LA he performs at The Blue Whale, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) Friday Night Jazz series, ACE Theater, Catalina Jazz Club, Vibrato, Zipper Hall, Vitellos, Karen Carpenter Performing Arts Center and virtually every jazz venue in Los Angeles. His festival appearances include Santa Barbara Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival, Nortelje Jazz Festival (Sweden), Alandia Jazz Festival (Scandinavia), Angel City Jazz Festival (LA), and Catalina Jazz Festival, to name a few. Abroad, hes graced the stage in Tahiti, Australia, Scandinavia, and Canada.

He has arranged and overseen the production of multiple vocal and instrumental jazz records and boasts an ever-growing catalogue of independently released recordings under his own name.

Highly regarded by the industry, he holds endorsement contracts with Majestic vibes and Innovative Percussion mallets.
